Codoku Privacy Policy
Summary
Codoku is a color-based Sudoku puzzle game. Standard puzzles, settings, and statistics are stored on your device. If you use optional online features, limited data is sent to service providers as described below. The developer does not sell your personal information.
Information we do not collect directly
Codoku does not:
- Require an account or login
- Collect your name, email, phone number, or precise location
- Access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera
- Sell your personal information
The Android app does show ads through Google AdMob; see Google AdMob below.
The Android app requests Internet permission for the optional Daily Challenge and Firebase services, Notifications permission (Android 13+) if you opt in to daily reminders, and Vibrate permission for optional haptic feedback when you enable Vibrate in settings.
Information stored on your device
Codoku saves data locally so the game can work:

This data is not sent to the developer’s own servers. You can delete it by clearing app storage or uninstalling Codoku.

Codoku uses the following third-party services. They may collect information according to their own privacy policies. The developer does not receive this data directly unless noted.
Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics)
Codoku uses Google Firebase on Android:

Analytics and crash reporting apply to the Android app only.
Google AdMob (Android)
The Android app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob:

To serve ads, Google may collect and use your advertising ID, device information, and general location derived from your IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Your choices. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Codoku shows a Google consent form before requesting ads, and a Privacy options button on the home screen lets you change your choice at any time. Elsewhere, ads are shown without a consent form as permitted by local law.
Codoku is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. Ads appear in the Android app only; the web version does not show ads.
Daily Challenge (optional online feature)
If you choose Daily Challenge, the app contacts a server to download that day’s puzzle. The request includes the date of the puzzle requested. The developer does not require an account for this feature. Server logs may include standard connection metadata (e.g. IP address, request time) handled by the hosting provider.
Local reminders (optional, Android)
If you opt in after completing a daily challenge, Codoku can schedule local notifications on your device at 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM (your device’s local time) to remind you about the daily puzzle. Reminders are scheduled on your phone only; no reminder data is sent to the developer’s servers. You can decline reminders when asked, and Android lets you turn off notifications for Codoku in system settings.
Third parties
If you install Codoku through Google Play, Google may process information according to the Google Privacy Policy. The developer does not receive that data from the Codoku app itself.
Children’s privacy
Codoku is intended for players aged 13 and over and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and ad requests are not tagged as child-directed.
Data retention
On-device data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall the app.
Firebase data is retained by Google according to Firebase and Google Analytics settings and policies.
Security
Local game data stays in the app’s private storage on your device. Data sent to Firebase or the Daily Challenge server uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
Your choices
- Daily Challenge: Optional. Standard offline puzzles do not require internet.
- Daily reminders: Optional on Android. Offered after you complete your first daily challenge. You can accept or decline; Android also lets you turn off notifications for Codoku in system settings.
- Analytics and crash reporting: Optional on Android. Offered after you complete your first puzzle. You can accept or decline when asked.
- Ads: Rewarded ads are always your choice — the game never requires you to watch one. Where local law requires consent, use the Privacy options button on the home screen to review or change your ad consent. Android settings also let you reset or delete your advertising ID.
Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date above will change when we do.
